Chocolate Monkey
– 1 banana, 1 c. orange juice, cacao to taste, 1/2 c. coconut milk, sweetened to taste.
This fantastic smoothie speaks for itself! Add some strawberries, or blueberries for a bit of variety. Hemp hearts or cashews are also a nice addition to the basic Chocolate Monkey. Gotta love chocolate smoothies!
Green Chocolate Monkey
– 1 banana, a fist full of spinach, dandelion or lambs quarters, cacao to taste, a splash of green algae, a fresh orange, peeled and a bit of sweetener if needed.
Only one thing is better than a Chocolate Monkey Smoothie…it’s a GREEN Chocolate Monkey! I love the fact that I can boost this great smoothie with greens…and the chocolate flavour covers up the “green-ness”. My kids get an extra zip and I get the satisfaction that they are getting more nutrition!
